Here’s a delicious recipe for a Cinnamon Apple Cake that is perfect for any occasion. This cake is moist, flavorful, and has a lovely cinnamon aroma.

Cinnamon Apple Cake Recipe

Ingredients

For the Cake:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar added)
  • 2 cups peeled, cored, and diced apples (about 2-3 medium apples)

For the Cinnamon Sugar Topping:

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.

  3. Cream the Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes). You can use an electric mixer for this.

  4. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, mix in the vanilla extract.

  5. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the buttermilk. Start and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

  6. Fold in Apples: Gently fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  7. Prepare the Topping: In a small bowl, mix together the granulated sugar and cinnamon for the topping.

  8. Assemble the Cake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top of the batter.

  9. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Cool and Serve: Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve warm or at room temperature.
