Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for homemade Chocolate Syrup! This syrup is perfect for drizzling over ice cream, pancakes, waffles, or for mixing into milk for a tasty chocolate drink.

Homemade Chocolate Syrup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In a medium saucepan, whisk together the cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt until well combined.
  2. Add Water:

    • Gradually add the water to the dry ingredients, whisking continuously to prevent lumps from forming.
  3. Cook the Mixture:

    • Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring frequently. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes, continuing to stir. The syrup will thicken slightly as it cooks.
  4. Add Vanilla:

    • Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the syrup to cool slightly.
  5. Store:

    • Once cooled, transfer the chocolate syrup to a clean glass jar or bottle. Let it cool completely before sealing. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Tips:

  • Adjust Sweetness: You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
  • Thicker Syrup: If you prefer a thicker syrup, you can simmer it for a few extra minutes until it reaches your desired consistency.
