Posted on January 3, 2025

Here’s a delicious recipe for Cheesy Garlic Bread that’s perfect as a side dish or appetizer. This bread is loaded with garlic, butter, and cheese, making it irresistibly tasty!

Cheesy Garlic Bread Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread or Italian bread
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (or 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (or a blend of mozzarella and cheddar)
  • Optional: 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the Garlic Butter:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Bread:

    • Slice the loaf of bread in half lengthwise. If you prefer smaller pieces, you can cut it into individual slices but keep them attached at the bottom.
  4. Spread the Garlic Butter:

    • Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. Make sure to cover it evenly.
  5. Add the Cheese:

    • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese (and Parmesan cheese, if using) evenly over the buttered bread.
  6. Bake:

    • Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. For a golden top, you can broil it for an additional 1-2 minutes, but watch it closely to prevent burning.
  7. Serve:

    • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Cut into slices and serve warm.

Tips:

  • Additions: Feel free to add other toppings like sliced jalapeños, cooked bacon bits, or herbs for extra flavor.
  • Storage: Leftover cheesy garlic bread can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven for best results.
  • Freezing: You can freeze the prepared but unbaked garlic bread. Wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil, then bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the baking time.

Enjoy your Cheesy Garlic Bread! It’s a perfect complement to pasta dishes, soups, or salads!
