applesauce made bread

Here’s a delicious recipe for Applesauce Bread. This moist and flavorful bread is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert!

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups applesauce (unsweetened or sweetened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans, optional)
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix well until smooth.
  3. Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. If using, fold in the chopped nuts and raisins or dried cranberries.
  5. Pour into the Pan:

    • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool:

    • Once baked, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes. Then, transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  8. Serve:

    • Slice and enjoy your delicious Applesauce Bread! It can be served plain or with a spread of butter.
