Air Fryer Chicken Thighs

Posted on June 3, 2025

Here’s a simple and delicious recipe for Air Fryer Chicken Thighs that results in crispy skin and juicy meat!

Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs (about 1.5 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme (or your favorite herb)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels. This helps to achieve crispy skin.
    • In a large bowl, combine the olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well to create a marinade.
  3. Season the Chicken:

    • Add the chicken thighs to the bowl and toss them in the marinade until they are well coated.
  4. Air Fry the Chicken:

    • Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket, skin side up. Make sure they are not overcrowded; you may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
    • Cook for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C) and the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  5. Rest and Serve:

    • Once cooked, remove the chicken thighs from the air fryer and let them rest for about 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Enjoy!

Serve your air-fried chicken thighs with your favorite sides, such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad. This recipe is not only quick and easy but also packed with flavor and perfect for a weeknight dinner!
